SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT FOR NEWFOUNDLAND ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT  
CANADA AT 3:39 PM NDT WEDNESDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2005.  
 
A VIGOROUS TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE CURRENTLY CROSSING SOUTHWESTERN  
NEWFOUNDLAND WILL MOVE TO LIE EAST OF THE ISLAND OVERNIGHT.  
BEHIND THE TROUGH STRONG WESTERLY WINDS AND COOL TEMPERATURES WILL  
SPREAD FROM WEST TO EAST OVERNIGHT.  
 
TEMPERATURES ON THURSDAY WILL BE NOTICEABLY COOLER IN THE WAKE OF THE  
LOW. IN ADDITION VERY STRONG WESTERLY WINDS WITH GUSTS TO 90 KM/H  
WILL DEVELOP IN THE MORNING ESPECIALLY NEAR THE COAST. THERE IS THE  
POSSIBILITY SOME GUSTS COULD REACH 100 KM/H PARTICULARLY ALONG THE  
SOUTH COAST.  
 
THE PUBLIC IS ADVISED TO MONITOR FUTURE FORECASTS AS WARNINGS MAY BE  
REQUIRED.
