NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK

DISCUSSION

AFTERNOON SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO DIMINISH TONIGHT, THEN REDEVELOP
DURING THE DAY FRIDAY AS A DISTURBANCE MOVES ACROSS SOUTHCENTRAL.
ON FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY, DIMINISHING INSTABILITY WILL KEEP
PRECIPITATION CONFINED TO AREAS NOT SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTED BY
DOWNSLOPING AND STRONG GAP WINDS. THE WINDS WILL REMAIN ELEVATED
THROUGH THE GAPS, BUT WILL BE GUSTIEST DURING THE AFTERNOONS
THROUGH TURNAGAIN ARM AND THE KNIK RIVER VALLEY. THE STRONGEST
WINDS THROUGH THE GAPS AND ANCHORAGE WILL BE ON SATURDAY.
