..POSSIBLE SNOW EVENT THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING INTO THE NORTHEAST GULF OF ALASKA
LOOKS TO MOVE SNOW INTO PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST ALASKA AS EARLY AS
THURSDAY NIGHT OR FRIDAY. HOWEVER, UNCERTAINTY REGARDING AMOUNTS
AND AREAL EXTENT OF SNOW STILL EXISTS. PRECIPITATION ALONG COASTAL
AREAS WILL LIKELY START AS SNOW BUT THEN TRANSITION TO RAIN, THUS
LIMITING TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS. FAR NORTHERN AREAS MAY RECEIVE
LIMITED SNOW AMOUNTS AS THE LOW TRACKS MORE TO THE SOUTH. AT THIS
TIME SNOW TOTALS MAY BE IN THE 2 TO 5 INCH RANGE. AS CONFIDENCE
RISES, FORECASTS WILL PROVIDE MORE SPECIFICS.
