..RISK OF BLACK ICE OVERNIGHT IN MARSHALL... DE KALB

AND CULLMAN
COUNTIES...

LINGERING MOISTURE FROM TODAY'S SNOWFALL IN COMBINATION WITH COLD
AIR MOVING INTO THE REGION, WILL CREATE A RISK OF BLACK ICE
DEVELOPMENT ON SOME AREA ROADS. BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES, ESPECIALLY ON
RURAL ROADS ARE ESPECIALLY AT RISK. TEMPERATURES WILL FALL INTO THE
UPPER 20S AFTER 6 PM, AND INTO THE MIDDLE 20S FOR OVERNIGHT LOWS.

BLACK ICE CAN BE ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO
SEE IT UNTIL YOU HAVE ALREADY ENCOUNTERED IT. IF TRAVELING, USE
EXTREME CAUTION, ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES, OVERPASSES, AND ELEVATED
HIGHWAYS WHERE WATER FREEZES FIRST. DO NOT ASSUME THAT A WELL
TRAVELED ROAD WILL BE FREE OF ICE.
