FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH-CENTRAL
ARIZONA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ
622 AM MST MON AUG 20 2018

DISCUSSION

ANOTHER WARMER THAN NORMAL DAY IS EXPECTED AS HIGH TEMPERATURES
CLIMB INTO THE 106-110 DEGREE RANGE ACROSS THE LOWER DESERTS WITH
90S AND LOWER 100S OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF GILA COUNTY.
HOWEVER, INCREASING MOISTURE SHOULD HELP KEEP MINIMUM RELATIVE
HUMIDITY VALUES ABOVE 20 PERCENT. WINDS SHOULD REMAIN BELOW 15
MPH EXCEPT FOR SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA AND SOUTHWEST ARIZONA THIS
AFTERNOON WHERE GUSTS TO 25 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE. ADDITIONAL
INCREASES IN MOISTURE WILL COMBINED WITH DISTURBANCES EMBEDDED IN
SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL ALLOW FOR ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE LOWER DESERTS OF ARIZONA AND GILA COUNTY AS
EARLY AS TONIGHT, WITH BETTER CHANCES OVERNIGHT INTO TUESDAY.
THIS WILL RESULT IN COOLER TEMPERATURES AND INCREASING RELATIVE
HUMIDITY VALUES ON TOP OF ENHANCED CHANCES OF WETTING RAINS.

..THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY WINDS
