HIGH PRESSURE ALONG THE EASTERN SEABOARD WILL MOVE OFFSHORE AND BEHIND  
IT WARMER AIR WILL MOVE INTO SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND THIS AFTERNOON ALONG  
WITH BREEZY AND GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS. SCATTERED RAIN IS EXPECTED ACROSS  
THE REGION TODAY, BUT STARTING OUT AS A WINTRY MIX ACROSS WESTERN  
SECTIONS. A WARM WILL LIFT JUST NORTH OF MASSACHUSETTS TONIGHT THEN  
RETURN SOUTHWARD AS A COLD FRONT SATURDAY IN RESPONSE TO CANADIAN HIGH  
PRESSURE BUILDING OVER NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND. AHEAD AND ALONG THIS COLD  
FRONT WILL BE THE CHANCE FOR RAIN ON SATURDAY.  
 
THERE WILL BE A LULL IN THE ACTION SATURDAY NIGHT AS DRY HIGH PRESSURE  
NOSES DOWN ACROSS OUR REGION. BUT ON SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT, MESSY  
CONDITIONS WILL UNFOLD WHEN THERE IS THE CHANCE FOR FREEZING RAIN AT  
NIGHT ACROSS NORTHERN CONNECTICUT AND CENTRAL AND WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS,  
WITH THE CHANCE FOR RAIN ELSEWHERE.  
 
A STORM SYSTEM WILL FINALLY MOVE THROUGH OUR REGION EARLY NEXT WEEK, BUT  
NOT BEFORE MORE CHANCES FOR RAIN MONDAY AND TUESDAY. CLEARING AND DRYING  
CONDITIONS FOLLOW ON WEDNESDAY INTO FRIDAY.  
 
SNOWMELT FROM THE WARMTH TODAY AND THE CHANCES FOR RAIN THROUGH THE  
WEEKEND, WILL YIELD ONLY SLIGHT RISES ON SOME AREA MAIN STEM RIVER  
LEVELS OVER THE NEXT 24 TO 48 HOURS.
