THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE HAS ISSUED A  
 
* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS FOR...  
CENTRAL VOLUSIA COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA...  
 
* UNTIL 915 PM EDT.  
 
* AT 714 PM EDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO  
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS CENTRAL VOLUSIA COUNTY. OVERFLOWING POOR  
DRAINAGE AREAS WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING IN THE ADVISORY AREA.  
UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN IN COASTAL VOLUSIA  
COUNTY, AND ACROSS DELAND. SOME AREAS NEAR RURAL NORTH CENTRAL  
VOLUSIA HAVE RECEIVED IN EXCESS OF 3 INCHES OF RAIN SINCE EARLIER  
THIS AFTERNOON.  
 
* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...  
DAYTONA BEACH, DELAND, LAKE HELEN AND DELEON SPRINGS.  
 
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS EXPECTED OVER THE AREA. THIS  
ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING.  
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  
 
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL  
CREEKS AND STREAMS, URBAN AREAS, HIGHWAYS, STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS  
WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.  
 
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL  
CREEKS AND STREAMS, COUNTRY ROADS, FARMLAND, AND OTHER LOW LYING
