...MORE RAINFALL ON ALREADY SATURATED SOILS MAY LEAD TO  
ADDITIONAL LANDSLIDES AND LOCALIZED FLOODING...  
 
ADDITIONAL LANDSLIDE ACTIVITY IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT FEW  
DAYS OVER THE STEEP TERRAIN OF EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO  
AS MORE RAIN FALLS ON THE REGION. SOILS ARE VERY SATURATED THIS  
SPRING AND OVER 100 LANDSLIDES AND GROUND FAILURES HAVE ALREADY  
BEEN REPORTED THIS SPRING IN EASTERN WASHINGTON. MANY OF THESE  
SLIDES OCCUR A FEW DAYS AFTER THE RAINFALL HAS ENDED.  
 
LOCALIZED FLOODING IS ALSO POSSIBLE. BUT IF ANY FLOODING DOES  
OCCUR IT WILL MINOR IN NATURE AND SHOULD NOT EXCEED ANY WATER  
LEVELS THAT HAVE BEEN OBSERVED ALREADY THIS SPRING.  
 
MORE SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THURSDAY. RAIN AMOUNTS DURING  
THIS PERIOD WILL RANGE FROM A FEW TENTHS TO A HALF INCH IN THE  
CASCADES, A QUARTER TO A HALF INCH IN THE IDAHO PANHANDLE, AND A  
TENTH OR TWO OF AN INCH IN FAR EASTERN WASHINGTON.  
 
AFTER A DRY BREAK PERIOD FRIDAY AND SATURDAY THE WEATHER PATTERN  
WILL CONTINUE TO BE ACTIVE AND OCCASIONALLY WET THROUGH MUCH OF  
NEXT WEEK.  
 
RESIDENTS AND TRAVELERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO MONITOR THIS WEATHER  
SITUATION FOR UPDATES, AND INFORMATION ON POTENTIAL ROAD  
CLOSURES.
