HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY
316 AM CDT SAT APR 21 2018

..ANOTHER SOAKING RAIN IS COMING THIS WEEKEND

RAIN CHANCES START FROM THE SOUTH AND WEST TONIGHT, AND SPREAD
ACROSS OUR AREA IN ENTIRETY SUNDAY, AS A LOW PRESSURE WEATHER
MAKER APPROACHES FROM THE WEST.

THE LOW WILL TRACK TO OUR SOUTH, AND RAIN CHANCES PEAK SUNDAY
INTO SUNDAY NIGHT, WHEN THE LOW IS AT ITS NEAREST PROXIMITY. RAINS
WILL TAPER OFF BY MONDAY NIGHT AS THE LOW PASSES ON AND DEPARTS
AWAY.

SINCE THE LOW IS TO OUR SOUTH, THAT IS WHERE THE BEST CHANCE OF
RAIN, AND OUR HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS, WILL OCCUR. EXPECT AROUND
AN INCH AND A HALF STORM TOTAL AVERAGE RAINFALL AMOUNTS ALONG THE
ARKANSAS AND TENNESSE BORDER REGIONS OF SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AND
WESTERN KENTUCKY.

AN INCH OR SO IS FORECAST FROM AROUND CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI TO
MADISONVILLE, KENTUCKY. HALF INCH AMOUNTS OR LESS WILL BE
REALIZED ALONG AND NORTH OF A CARBONDALE, ILLINOIS TO EVANSVILLE,
INDIANA LINE.

WHILE THESE STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS, SPREAD OUT OVER A 48
HOUR PERIOD FROM SATURDAY NIGHT TO MONDAY NIGHT, SHOULD NOT CAUSE
ANY SIGNIFICANT ISSUES, SMALLER STREAMS, CREEKS, AND LOW LANDS AND
FLOOD PRONE AREAS COULD FILL OR OVERSPILL WHERE THE HEAVIER RAINS
ARE FORECAST, PARTICULARLY TOWARD THE ARKANSAS AND TENNESSEE
BORDER AREAS. RIVER FORECASTS MAY ALSO SEE SLOWER RECESSIONS IN
THEIR FORECASTS, AS THIS RUNOFF PRECIPITATION OCCURS OVER THE
NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

STAY TUNED TO THE LATEST FORECASTS AND UPDATES FOR THIS LATE
WEEKEND RAINFALL EVENT.
