..FLOOD WATCH IS CANCELLED

THE FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL MAINE, FAR NORTHERN
MAINE, NORTH CENTRAL MAINE, NORTHERN MAINE, AND WEST CENTRAL
MAINE HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

RIVERS AND STREAMS ACROSS NORTHERN AND CENTRAL MAINE WILL REMAIN
ELEVATED INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS FORECAST
SUNDAY AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY. RAINFALL AMOUNTS THROUGH THAT
PERIOD ARE EXPECTED TO GENERALLY BE ONE-QUARTER TO ONE-HALF INCH.
THIS AMOUNT OF RAINFALL IS NOT EXPECTED TO RESULT IN ANY NEW
ADDITIONAL FLOODING, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THAT THE SNOWMELT
COMPONENT OF RUNOFF WILL BE DECREASING (MOST OF OUR SNOW PACK HAS
MELTED).

FLOOD WARNINGS DO REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR THE BIG BLACK RIVER, THE
ST. JOHN AND FISH RIVERS AT FORT KENT, AS WELL AS THE
MATTAWAMKEAG RIVER AT MATTAWAMKEAG. REMEMBER, NEVER ATTEMPT TO
CROSS A FLOODED ROAD.
