DISCUSSION

A DRIER PERIOD IS SHAPING UP THROUGH FRIDAY IN TERMS OF WETTING
RAIN AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES. STORMS CHANCES RETURN LATER ON
SATURDAY AND THEY LOOK TO BE REAL GOOD IN TERMS OF WETTING MOISTURE.
THERE WILL BE SEVERAL WIND SHIFTS DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
THE GRADIENT WIND IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE TONIGHT DUE TO A
STRENGTHENING LEE SIDE SURFACE LOW OVER SOUTHEAST COLORADO. A MORE
SIGNIFICANT WIND SHIFT IS EXPECTED FRIDAY NIGHT FROM THE NORTH. IT
LOOKS LIKE A BOUNDARY ORIGINATING FROM COLORADO WOULD MOVE ACROSS
THE FIRE AREA DURING THAT PERIOD. THIS SHOULD SET THE STAGE FOR
SIGNIFICANT THUNDERSTORMS LATER ON SATURDAY.
