==DISCUSSION==

SIGNIFICANT ICE STORM CONTINUES INTO THIS AFTERNOON. POWER OUTAGES
LIKELY.

PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO CONTINUE TO REPORT A MIX OF ICE
PELLETS AND FREEZING RAIN. THIS ICY MIX IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO
THE AFTERNOON BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO STRAIGHT RAIN AS TEMPERATURES
BEGIN TO RISE ABOVE THE FREEZING MARK.

THE ICE BUILDUP WON'T LIKELY BE AS SEVERE AS EARLIER EXPECTED -
PERHAPS UP TO 10 MM. HOWEVER, STRONG WINDS GUSTING TO 80 KM/H IN
COMBINATION WITH THE ICE ACCUMULATION WILL LIKELY STILL RESULT IN
MANY POWER OUTAGES DUE TO FALLEN TREES LIMBS AND POWER LINES.

DANGEROUS WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ON UNTREATED ROADS,
WORSENED BY FALLEN TREE LIMBS.

TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED. SURFACES SUCH AS HIGHWAYS, ROADS,
WALKWAYS AND PARKING LOTS WILL BECOME ICY, SLIPPERY AND EXTREMELY
HAZARDOUS. PUBLIC SAFETY CANADA ENCOURAGES EVERYONE TO MAKE AN
EMERGENCY PLAN AND GET AN EMERGENCY KIT WITH DRINKING WATER, FOOD,
MEDICINE, A FIRST-AID KIT AND A FLASHLIGHT.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO MONITOR ALERTS AND FORECASTS ISSUED BY
ENVIRONMENT CANADA. TO REPORT SEVERE WEATHER, SEND AN EMAIL TO
ONSTORM(AT)CANADA.CA OR TWEET REPORTS USING (HASH)ONSTORM.
