==DISCUSSION==

SIGNIFICANT FREEZING RAIN GRADUALLY CHANGING TO RAIN. POWER OUTAGES
LIKELY TO CONTINUE INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

MOST OF THE FREEZING RAIN ACROSS THE AREA IS TRANSITIONING TO RAIN
THIS EVENING AS TEMPERATURES NUDGE SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE FREEZING MARK.

AN ICE BUILDUP OF 5 TO ABOUT 10 MM HAS BEEN REPORTED IN PARTS OF THE
AREA. STRONG WINDS GUSTING TO 70 AND LOCALLY 80 KM/H IN COMBINATION
WITH THE ICE ACCUMULATION CONTINUES TO CREATE POWER OUTAGES DUE TO
FALLEN TREES LIMBS AND POWER LINES. THE WIND WILL FINALLY EASE
OVERNIGHT ASSISTING HYDRO CREWS TO RESTORE POWER MORE SAFELY.

DANGEROUS WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ON UNTREATED ROADS,
WORSENED BY FALLEN TREE LIMBS.

TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED. BEWARE OF BRANCHES OR ELECTRICAL WIRES
THAT COULD BREAK UNDER THE WEIGHT OF ICE. STAY AWAY FROM FALLEN
POWER LINES. PUBLIC SAFETY CANADA ENCOURAGES EVERYONE TO MAKE AN
EMERGENCY PLAN AND GET AN EMERGENCY KIT WITH DRINKING WATER, FOOD,
MEDICINE, A FIRST-AID KIT AND A FLASHLIGHT.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO MONITOR ALERTS AND FORECASTS ISSUED BY
ENVIRONMENT CANADA. TO REPORT SEVERE WEATHER, SEND AN EMAIL TO
