==DISCUSSION==

FREEZING RAIN SLOWLY TRANSITIONING TO RAIN OVERNIGHT. LOCALIZED
POWER OUTAGES EXPECTED TO CONTINUE.

THE FREEZING RAIN HAS CHANGED TO RAIN IN TORONTO, BUT MAY PERSIST
NORTH OF THE CITY AS TEMPERATURES REMAIN CLOSE TO THE FREEZING MARK.
IT SHOULD CHANGE TO RAIN ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA IN THE OVERNIGHT
HOURS AS TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO RISE.

ICE ACCUMULATIONS COMBINED WITH STRONG EASTERLY WINDS UP TO 70 OR 80
KM/H MAY CREATE MORE LOCALIZED POWER OUTAGES DUE TO FALLEN TREE
LIMBS AND POWER LINES. WINDS SHOULD EASE FURTHER OVERNIGHT ALLOWING
HYDRO CREWS TO RESTORE POWER MORE SAFELY.

DANGEROUS WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ON UNTREATED ROADS,
WORSENED BY FALLEN TREE LIMBS.

TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN WALKING OR DRIVING IN AFFECTED AREAS. BEWARE OF
BRANCHES OR ELECTRICAL WIRES THAT COULD BREAK UNDER THE WEIGHT OF
ICE.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO MONITOR ALERTS AND FORECASTS ISSUED BY
ENVIRONMENT CANADA. TO REPORT SEVERE WEATHER, SEND AN EMAIL TO
