SOUTHWESTERN CASS COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA...  
NORTHWESTERN PINE COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...  
SOUTHWESTERN ST. LOUIS COUNTY IN NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA...  
WESTERN CARLTON COUNTY IN NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA...  
CROW WING COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...

* AT 258 AM CDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING  
HEAVY RAIN HEADED TOWARDS THE WARNED AREA. THESE STORMS ARE  
PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES OF ONE TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR WHICH WILL  
CAUSE FLOODING IN MANY COMMUNITIES AS WELL AS WASH OUT SOME RURAL  
ROADS. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY.  
 
* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...  
BRAINERD, BIG SANDY LAKE, MILLE LACS LAKE, BAXTER, CROSBY, AITKIN,  
PEQUOT LAKES, NISSWA, IRONTON, DEERWOOD, FLOODWOOD, PILLAGER,  
MCGREGOR, MALMO, CUYUNA, CROMWELL, GARRISON, KETTLE RIVER,  
PALISADE, AND TAMARACK.  
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  
 
TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD  
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.  
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE  
DANGERS OF FLOODING.  
 
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL  
CREEKS AND STREAMS, COUNTRY ROADS, FARMLAND, AND OTHER LOW LYING  
SPOTS.  
 
FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE  
YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS, RIVERS, OR CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME  
KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS. CAMPERS AND HIKERS SHOULD AVOID STREAMS OR  
CREEKS.  
 
PLEASE REPORT FLOODING TO YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY WHEN YOU
