MARINE WEATHER DISCUSSION FOR THE GULF OF MEXICO, CARIBBEAN SEA,  
AND TROPICAL NORTH ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W  
AND THE SOUTHWEST NORTH ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS  
   
..GULF OF MEXICO
 
 
HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE NORTHERN GULF IS MAINTAINING LIGHT TO  
GENTLE BREEZES ACROSS THE NE AND N CENTRAL GULF WITH SLIGHT SEAS.  
GENTLE TO MODERATE SE WINDS ARE ONGOING OVER THE NW GULF WITH 2  
TO 4 FT SEAS. MODERATE NE WINDS ARE ACTIVE ACROSS THE SE GULF AND  
STRAITS OF FLORIDA, BETWEEN A WESTWARD MOVING TROUGH IN THE  
BAHAMAS AND THE HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED OVER THE WESTERN FLORIDA  
PANHANDLE. NE WINDS OFF WESTERN CUBA AND THE YUCATAN PENINSULA  
ARE MAY BE REACHING 20 KT WITH SEAS OF 5 TO 6 FT. A WEAK THERMAL  
TROUGH WILL DEVELOP OVER NW YUCATAN EACH OF THE NEXT SEVERAL  
EVENINGS AND DRIFT W THROUGH THE SW GULF THROUGH THE EARLY  
MORNINGS. NO SIGNIFICANT SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOTED OR  
EXPECTED FOR A FEW DAYS. NO MAJOR CHANGES ARE NOTED THROUGH EARLY  
NEXT WEEK. LOOKING AHEAD, A COLD FRONT IS WILL MOVE OFF THE COAST  
OF TEXAS BY MID WEEK, FOLLOWED BY STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS AND  
BUILDING SEAS OVER THE NW GULF THROUGH WED NIGHT.

A SURFACE TROUGH SOUTH OF JAMAICA IS MOVING INTO THE WESTERN  
CARIBBEAN, IN PHASE WITH ANOTHER TROUGH NORTH OF THE REGION  
W MOVING THROUGH THE BAHAMAS. THIS IS INTERACTING WITH HIGH  
PRESSURE OVER THE NE GULF TO SUPPORT FRESH NE WINDS IN THE LEE  
OF CUBA AND NEAR THE YUCATAN CHANNEL, WITH SEAS TO 7 FT IN THE NW  
CARIBBEAN. GENTLE TRADES PERSIST ELSEWHERE FROM THE TROPICAL N  
ATLANTIC W OF 55W THROUGH THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN, EXCEPT FOR FRESH  
WINDS PULSING OFF COLOMBIA. WINDS AND SEAS WILL DIMINISH THROUGH  
LATE SUN AS THE CARIBBEAN TROUGH DRIFTS W. HIGH PRESSURE  
BUILDING INTO THE WESTERN ATLANTIC IN THE WAKE OF THE TROUGH N OF  
THE AREA WILL ALLOW TRADES TO INCREASE SLIGHTLY FROM THE TROPICAL  
N ATLANTIC INTO THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK.  
LOOKING AHEAD, FRESH NE TO E WINDS WILL PREVAIL IN MOST AREAS BY  
MID WEEK AS THE RIDGE BUILDS N OF THE REGION.  
 
   
..SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS
 
 
A SURFACE TROUGH ALONG 75W AND A 1012 MB LOW PRESSURE AREA ARE  
MOVING INTO THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN BAHAMAS CURRENTLY. MODERATE  
TO FRESH NE WINDS ARE NOTED OVER WATERS BETWEEN THE TROUGH AND  
NE FLORIDA ALLOWING SEAS TO BUILD TO 5 FT THE GULF STREAM. THE  
TROUGH WILL LINGER IN THE AREA THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK, BUT THESE  
WINDS WILL DIMINISH THROUGH LATE TODAY AS HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE  
CAROLINAS DISSIPATES AS A COLD FRONT MOVES OFF THE COAST WELL N  
OF THE REGION. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD FROM THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC  
INTO THE WESTERN ATLANTIC IN THE WAKE OF THE TROUGH, SUN THROUGH  
EARLY NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL SUPPORT MODERATE TRADE WINDS S OF 22N  
AND OVERNIGHT PULSES OF FRESH TRADES OFF THE N COAST OF  
HISPANIOLA WITH SEAS TO 6 FT AT TIMES. OTHERWISE MODEST WINDS AND  
SEAS WILL PERSIST INTO MID WEEK N OF 22N. LOOKING AHEAD, WINDS  
MAY VEER SW OFF THE NE FLORIDA COAST LATE WED AHEAD OF AN  
APPROACHING COLD FRONT.
