...HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE OVER PARTS OF THE LOWER GREAT LAKES AND THE  
NORTHEAST...  
 
...SNOW POSSIBLE OVER PARTS OF THE UPPER GREAT LAKES, CENTRAL  
APPALACHIANS, AND PARTS OF THE CENTRAL ROCKIES...  
 
TROPICAL MOISTURE, FROM WHAT WAS TROPICAL CYCLONE PHILIPPE, WILL  
DRAW INTO THE RAPIDLY DEEPENING STORM OVER THE NORTHEAST COAST.  
THE CENTRAL LOW WILL LIFT THROUGH NEW YORK TODAY AND CONTINUE ON  
ITS TRACK THROUGH QUEBEC TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. RAIN, HEAVY AT  
TIMES, WILL SPREAD ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE NORTHEAST AND GREAT  
LAKES AND PERSIST FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS- WHILE DIMINISHING OVER THE  
MID-ATLANTIC TODAY. FLOOD WATCHES AND WARNINGS WILL REMAIN IN  
EFFECT ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE NORTHEAST. LIGHT SNOW WILL BE  
POSSIBLE OVER THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS OF THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS.  
STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED NEAR THE DEEP LOW; MUCH OF NEW ENGLAND  
IS UNDER A HIGH WIND WATCH WITH STORM WARNINGS/HURRICANE FORCE  
WIND WARNINGS FOR THE COASTAL AND OFFSHORE WATERS.  
 
A FRONT EXTENDING FROM THE UPPER GREAT LAKES/UPPER MISSISSIPPI  
VALLEY ROUGHLY SOUTHWESTWARD TO THE CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS WILL MOVE  
EASTWARD TO THE MID-ATLANTIC COAST/SOUTHEAST TO THE LOWER  
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY/WESTERN GULF COAST BY TUESDAY MORNING. THE  
ASSOCIATED SURFACE LOW WITH THIS FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL BE ABSORBED  
INTO THE CIRCULATION AROUND THE VERY DEEP LOW OVER THE NORTHEAST  
AS THE LOW MOVES INTO SOUTHERN CANADA TODAY. RAIN AND LIGHT SNOW  
IS EXPECTED OVER PARTS OF THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY/UPPER GREAT  
LAKES AND PARTS OF THE NORTHERN PLAINS THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT.  
WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE  
SOUTHERN FLANK OF THE FRONT AS IT PASSES THROUGH THE CENTRAL AND  
SOUTHERN PLAINS. SNOW, HEAVY AT TIMES, IS FORECAST FOR PORTIONS  
OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ROCKIES.  
 
ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO SURGE SOUTHEAST FROM  
CANADA INTO THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL PLAINS TUESDAY INTO  
WEDNESDAY. THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION TO  
THE NORTHERN ROCKIES AND ADJACENT NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS.
