...WINTER-LIKE CONDITIONS CONTINUE ACROSS THE NORTHERN TIER AND
RAIN FOR THE SOUTHERN STATES...

THE WARM TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY THAT HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCED
LATELY FOR MANY AREAS WILL BECOME IN SHORT SUPPLY ACROSS THE
CONTINENTAL U.S. AS A STRONG COLD FRONT SLOWLY MOVES SOUTHWARD
TOWARDS THE GULF COAST. A SPRAWLING HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE FROM
CANADA WILL INFILTRATE MUCH OF THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN STATES
WITH TEMPERATURES FEELING MORE LIKE WINTER THAN NOVEMBER. HIGH
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW FREEZING FROM MONTANA TO
NORTHERN MICHIGAN THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK, WITH SOME
LOCATIONS HAVING OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS. RECENT
SNOWFALL OVER MUCH OF THIS REGION IS HELPING TO MAINTAIN THE
UNSEASONABLY COLD TEMPERATURES. SOME ADDITIONAL SNOW WILL BE
POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF THE ROCKIES THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

WITH THE COLD FRONT TRACKING ACROSS TEXAS, THE DEEP SOUTH, AND THE
SOUTHEAST U.S., EXPECT A SWATH OF LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN TO
ACCOMPANY IT, WITH SOME INSTANCES OF HEAVIER RAINFALL APPROACHING
AN INCH. GIVEN THE RELATIVE LACK OF INSTABILITY AND WIND SHEAR,
THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY BE LIMITED IN COVERAGE ACROSS THIS
REGION. ANOTHER AREA THAT WILL LIKELY GET SOME PRECIPITATION IS
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TO WESTERN WASHINGTON WITH THE SLOW APPROACH
OF A STORM SYSTEM OFFSHORE ON WEDNESDAY.
