...HIGH WIND, HEAVY RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOWS TO PERSIST ACROSS THE  
PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND CALIFORNIA...  
 
AN ONGOING HEAVY PRECIPITATION EVENT IS FORECAST TO CONTINUE  
THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK BEFORE TAPERING OFF THIS WEEKEND. A  
STRONG PACIFIC LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT IS MAKING ITS WAY INLAND  
IS SPREADING HEAVY RAIN TO COASTAL AREAS AND HEAVY SNOW ACROSS THE  
MOUNTAIN RANGES OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST SOUTH TO THE  
SIERRAS/WESTERN GREAT BASIN. THE HIGH WINDS OVER THE PACIFIC OCEAN  
HAVE BEGUN TO LESSEN. SMALL CRAFT ADVISORIES ARE STILL IN EFFECT  
FOR THE COASTAL WATERS OF WASHINGTON AND OREGON; HOWEVER, GALE  
WARNINGS AND STORMS WARNINGS REMAIN FOR THE OFFSHORE AND COASTAL  
WATERS OF CALIFORNIA. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES AND WINTER STORM  
WARNINGS CONTINUE FOR FROM THE CASCADES TO SOUTH-CENTRAL  
CALIFORNIA AND NORTHWEST NEVADA... WITH A FEW COVERING CENTRAL AND  
EASTERN IDAHO.  
 
RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURES WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF  
THE SOUTHWEST, GREAT BASIN, AND CENTRAL ROCKIES ON THURSDAY AND  
RECORD HIGH MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF  
THE SOUTHERN PLAINS ON FRIDAY. LIGHT PRECIPITATION WILL SPREAD  
EAST ACROSS THE ROCKIES INTO THE ADJACENT HIGH PLAINS AS A WEAK  
COLD FRONT PASSES THROUGH THE CENTRAL U.S. THE COOLER,  
POST-FRONTAL AIRMASS WILL LINGER OVER THE CENTRAL CONUS AS HIGH  
PRESSURE RETURNS.
