...HEAVY PRECIPITATION FOR THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA THIS WEEKEND...

...WELL-ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE WESTERN AND CENTRAL
U.S. THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST,
SOUTH INTO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND EAST INTO PORTIONS OF THE
NORTHERN ROCKIES AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHES THE WEST
COAST. THE COASTAL AREAS WILL LIKELY HAVE PERIODS OF HIGHER
RAINFALL RATES, WHICH MAY RESULT IN LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN. SNOW IS
EXPECTED TO MIX IN AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS, WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF
4 TO 8 INCHES POSSIBLE FOR PORTIONS OF THE CASCADES AND SIERRAS ON
SUNDAY. AS SNOW AMOUNTS DECREASE OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND
CALIFORNIA BY LATE SUNDAY, ACCUMULATIONS ARE FORECAST TO INCREASE
OVER SOUTHWEST MONTANA/NORTHWEST WYOMING ON MONDAY.

WITH A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE ANCHORED OVER THE WEST, MUCH OF THE
SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH-CENTRAL STATES WILL RUN WARMER THAN SEASONAL
AVERAGE FOR LATE NOVEMBER. SEVERAL LOCATIONS TODAY IN THE
SOUTHWEST WILL HAVE HIGHS RUNNING UPWARDS OF 20 DEGREES WARMER;
WHICH MAY TIE OR SET A NEW DAILY RECORD. TEMPERATURES 20 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL WILL SPREAD TO THE ROCKIES, NORTHERN AND CENTRAL
PLAINS BY SUNDAY, WITH MORE POSSIBILITIES FOR RECORD HIGHS AND
RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURES. FOR THE EAST, TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED TO BE 5 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE TODAY BEFORE FALLING
TO BELOW AVERAGE ON SUNDAY AFTER THE COLD FRONT SWEEPS THROUGH.
THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING LIGHT RAIN AND SNOW TO THE GREAT LAKES
REGION, NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC AND THE NORTHEAST.
