GREAT LAKES...  
   
..CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER PERSISTING ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
 
 
ACCUMULATING SNOWS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT  
HOURS ON SATURDAY FOR PORTIONS OF THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEAST  
AS AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN AND TRACK NORTH  
ALONG THE COAST. ADDITIONAL HEAVY ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE  
ACROSS PORTIONS OF LONG ISLAND, SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL NEW ENGLAND,  
AS WELL AS COASTAL AND EASTERN MAINE BEFORE THE SYSTEM TRACKS INTO  
THE CANADIAN MARITIME PROVINCES ON SUNDAY.  
 
LAKE EFFECT SNOWS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE IN SUNDAY, WITH LOCALLY  
HEAVY AMOUNTS POSSIBLE ALONG THE NORTHERN SHORES OF THE U.P. OF  
MICHIGAN. LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT ON SUNDAY FOR  
AREAS EAST OF LAKES ERIE AND ONTARIO AS STRONG WESTERLY WINDS WILL  
HELP SUPPORT NARROW BANDS OF HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOWS, PRODUCING  
AREAS OF LOW VISIBILITY AND HEAVY SNOW COVER. THEN SUNDAY NIGHT  
INTO MONDAY, MORE WIDESPREAD BUT GENERALLY LIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED  
TO SPREAD FROM THE UPPER MIDWEST INTO THE GREAT LAKES REGION AS A  
CLIPPER SYSTEM DROPS OUT OF CANADA.  
 
DRY CONDITIONS, WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO  
CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF THE WESTERN U.S., AS WELL AS THE CENTRAL  
AND SOUTHERN GREAT PLAINS. CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST  
ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. STRONG SANTA ANA WINDS, ALONG WITH  
VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, WILL CREATE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER  
CONDITIONS FOR PORTIONS OF THE REGION ON SUNDAY.
