...WINTER STORM SYSTEM TO CONTINUE PRODUCING HEAVY SNOW, RAIN AND  
FREEZING RAIN FROM THE CENTRAL PLAINS TO THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI  
VALLEY, GREAT LAKES AND THE NORTHEAST...  
 
...HEAVY RAIN AND SNOW POSSIBLE OVER PARTS OF THE PACIFIC  
NORTHWEST/NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND COAST...  
 
BLIZZARD WARNINGS, WINTER STORM WARNINGS AND WINTER WEATHER  
ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FROM EASTERN COLORADO TO UPPER MICHIGAN -  
WITH A FEW COUNTIES ACROSS UPSTATE NEW YORK, VERMONT AND NORTHERN  
MAINE. THIS STORM WILL HAVE SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS ON TRANSPORTATION;  
WITH MANY ROADS WITH TREACHEROUS OR IMPOSSIBLE DRIVING CONDITIONS.  
 
WIDESPREAD SNOW AND RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD ACROSS THE  
CENTRAL AND NORTHERN STATES AS A WINTER STORM LIFTS NORTHEAST  
THROUGH THE MIDWEST TODAY AND THROUGH THE NORTHEAST BY WEDNESDAY.  
THE SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES OVER PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL  
PLAINS AND UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY THROUGHOUT THE DAY BEFORE  
TAPERING OFF OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS TONIGHT. SNOW WILL DEVELOP  
OVER THE UPPER GREAT LAKES AND NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND THIS AFTERNOON  
AND WILL EXPAND SOUTH AND EAST TO THE LOWER LAKES AND NORTHEAST  
CONTINUING INTO TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. A NARROW TRANSITION ZONE  
ALONG THE FRONT WILL SUPPORT FREEZING RAIN BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO  
SNOW.  
 
RAIN WILL EXPAND INTO THE OHIO VALLEY/LOWER GREAT LAKES THIS  
MORNING, INTO SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND BY THIS EVENING AND INTO THE  
NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC BY EARLY TUESDAY. IN THE TRANSITION ZONE  
BETWEEN THE RAIN AND SNOW, RAIN/FREEZING RAIN WILL DEVELOP IN  
BANDS ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES TODAY INTO NEW ENGLAND OVERNIGHT  
MONDAY INTO TUESDAY. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE TO PARTS  
OF THE OHIO VALLEY SOUTHWARD TO THE EASTERN GULF COAST AND TO  
PARTS OF THE MID-ATLANTIC INTO THE SOUTHEAST BY TUESDAY MORNING.  
 
OUT WEST, UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY WILL PUSH INLAND OVER THE PACIFIC  
NORTHWEST SPREADING RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW FROM THE  
WASHINGTON/CALIFORNIA COAST TO THE NORTHERN PLAINS BY TUESDAY.  
SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BE HEAVY OVER THE CASCADES AND NORTHERN  
INTERMOUNTAIN REGION OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. ONSHORE FLOW WILL  
INCREASE TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY AS THE ANOTHER PACIFIC SYSTEM  
APPROACHES THE NORTHWEST.
