OF RAIN AND SNOW OVER THE CASCADES...

...SNOW POSSIBLE FROM THE GREAT LAKES TO CENTRAL/SOUTHERN  
APPALACHIANS AND EASTWARD OVER THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEAST....  
 
A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE EASTERN U.S. TODAY WILL MOVE  
OFFSHORE TONIGHT AND DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. COLD AIR WILL  
OVERSPREAD THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN STATES IN THE WAKE OF THE FRONT  
AS SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN OVER THE MIDWEST. SNOW WILL BE  
POSSIBLE FROM THE GREAT LAKES REGION SOUTH TO THE CENTRAL/SOUTHERN  
APPALACHIANS AND AREAS TO THE EAST OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.  
THE SNOW OVER THE GREAT LAKES WILL BE ENHANCED BY THE LAKES.  
TEMPERATURES WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY COLDER FRIDAY AND INTO THE  
WEEKEND. THE RAIN WILL MOVE EASTWARD OFF THE SOUTHERN  
MID-ATLANTIC/SOUTHEAST AND THE EASTERN/CENTRAL GULF COAST BY  
FRIDAY EVENING.  
 
MULTIPLE UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCES TRAVELING ACROSS THE NORTHWEST  
WILL AID IN PRODUCING SNOW OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. ONSHORE  
FLOW WILL KEEP RAIN POSSIBLE OVER COASTAL WASHINGTON AND OREGON  
THROUGH THE WEEKEND. SNOW-LEVELS WILL BEGIN TO RISE THIS WEEKEND  
AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS NEAR THE WEST COAST.
