AT 300 PM EST...A COLD FRONT IS PUSHING EAST THROUGH EASTERN  
TENNESSEE VALLEY CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS AND THE CENTRAL  
GULF STATES. A LOW PRESSURE OF 1013 MB HAS DEVELOPED EAST OF THE  
APPALACHIANS IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA WITH A WARM FRONT LIFTING  
UP THE EAST COAST TO JUST SOUTH OF SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS. THIS  
HAS TRAPPED COLD AIR UP AGAINST THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL  
APPALACHIANS. A SWATH OF FREEZING RAIN HAS DEVELOPED NEAR THE  
FREEZING LINE WITH RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE WARM SECTOR AND  
SNOW IN THE COLD SECTOR. SCATTERED TO WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND  
THUNDERSTORMS SPAN FROM THE GULF COAST TO THE SOUTHERN  
MID-ATLANTIC. A SQUALL LINE IS MOVING THROUGH SOUTH CAROLINA  
GEORGIA AND SOUTH ALABAMA AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT. A LIGHT TO  
MODERATE BAND OF SNOW FROM WESTERN NEW YORK TO EASTERN TENNESSEE  
IS MOVING TO THE EAST. WIDESPREAD LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN AND  
FREEZING RAIN IS PRESENT OVER THE NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC WITH SNOW  
OVER MUCH OF THE NORTHEAST.

AND EAST OF THE LOWER GREAT LAKES THROUGH LATE THURSDAY AS THE  
SURFACE LOW LIFTS FROM NEW ENGLAND NORTHEAST TO THE CANADIAN  
MARITIME.
