AT 800 PM CST...SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A WELL-DEFINED  
SURFACE FRONT EXTENDING WEST FROM THE MID MISSISSIPPI VALLEY BACK  
INTO THE CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS AND NORTHWEST FROM THE CENTRAL HIGH  
PLAINS INTO THE NORTHERN ROCKIES. A STRONG TEMPERATURE CONTRAST  
WAS NOTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE FRONT. SOUTH OF THE FRONT  
TEMPERATURES IN THE 40S WERE REPORTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST  
MONTANA. NORTH OF THE FRONT SINGLE DIGIT AND BELOW ZERO  
TEMPERATURES WERE REPORTED ACROSS MUCH OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN  
MONTANA. IN ADDITION TO COLDER TEMPERATURES STRONG GUSTY WINDS  
HAVE BEEN OBSERVED NORTH OF THE FRONT ACROSS PORTIONS OF MONTANA  
AND NORTHERN WYOMING. RADAR INDICATED AREAS OF LIGHT TO MODERATE  
SNOW FALLING ALONG AND NORTH OF THE BOUNDARY FROM NORTHWEST  
MONTANA TO NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND SOUTHERN WISCONSIN.

SOUTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN FAR NORTHERN INDIANA AND FAR NORTHWEST  
OHIO. THIS AREA INCLUDES THE METROPOLITAN AREAS OF CHICAGO AND  
DETROIT.
