..SYNOPSIS
 
 
THE UPPER-LEVEL PATTERN ON MONDAY WILL FEATURE ZONAL FLOW OVER MOST  
OF THE CONUS, WITH A SOUTHERN-STREAM SPEED MAXIMUM OVER THE SOUTHERN  
ROCKIES. AT THE SURFACE, A LEE TROUGH WILL DEVELOP OVER THE  
SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS WHILE HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS INTO THE DAKOTAS  
FROM THE NORTHWEST.  
   
..PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS
 
 
AS DIURNAL HEATING LEADS TO BOUNDARY-LAYER DEEPENING, ENHANCED  
WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT WILL MIX DOWN TO THE SURFACE, RESULTING IN  
SUSTAINED SURFACE WIND SPEEDS OF 15-20 MPH (WITH GUSTS OVER 30 MPH,  
ESPECIALLY DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON). MEANWHILE, DOWNSLOPE  
WARMING AND DRYING WILL AID IN AFTERNOON RH VALUES FALLING BELOW 20  
PERCENT. THESE DRY AND BREEZY CONDITIONS WILL RESULT IN ELEVATED  
FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS THE REGION ON MONDAY.
