..SYNOPSIS/DISCUSSION

THUNDERSTORMS ARE GENERALLY NOT EXPECTED OVER THE CONUS TODAY AS A
ZONAL LARGE-SCALE UPPER-LEVEL PATTERN EXISTS ALONG WITH A GENERAL
PREVALENCE OF DRY AND STABLE CONDITIONS. ISOLATED SHOWERS MAY
CONTINUE TO OCCUR TODAY ACROSS THE COASTAL SOUTHEAST NEAR A FRONT,
BUT OBSERVED/FORECAST THERMODYNAMIC PROFILES DO NOT APPEAR CONDUCIVE
FOR LIGHTNING.

A FEW THUNDERSTORMS MAY CONTINUE EARLY TODAY NEAR THE WASHINGTON
COAST WITH AN INLAND-SPREADING LOW-AMPLITUDE IMPULSE. LATER TONIGHT,
AN AMPLIFYING TROUGH OFF THE COAST OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST COULD
RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL ROUND OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY ALONG
COASTAL WASHINGTON, ALTHOUGH THE MAIN THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL RELATED
TO THIS SYSTEM SHOULD NOT OCCUR UNTIL THE DAY 2 PERIOD (AFTER 12Z
SATURDAY).
