...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTH COAST  
OF PUERTO RICO TODAY...  
 
THE COMBINATION WINDY CONDTIONS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES  
ARE FORECAST ACROSS THE CAMP SANTIAGO AREA AS WELL ALONG THE REST  
OF SOUTH COAST OF PUERTO RICO. SUSTAINED WINDS AROUND 20 MPH WITH  
HIGHER GUSTS ARE EXPECTED AROUND NOON WITH RH'S DROPPING TO THE  
LOW/MID 40S. SOILS ARE ALREADY DRY AND THERE ARE A LOT OF  
AVAILABLE FUELS. THEREFORE, THERE IS AN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER  
TODAY FOR THESE AREAS.  
 
FIRE AND EMERGENCY OFFICIALS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT WEATHER  
CONDITIONS ARE BECOMING MORE CONDUCIVE FOR THE IGNITION AND  
SPREAD OF WILD FIRES.  
 
FIRE DANGER STATEMENTS ARE ISSUED WHEN FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS  
ARE APPROACHING, BUT NOT MEETING OR EXCEEDING, RED FLAG WARNING
