TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA...  
CENTRAL JACKSON COUNTY IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA...  
SOUTHEASTERN HAYWOOD COUNTY IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA...  
 
* UNTIL 745 PM EDT  
 
* AT 443 PM EDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING  
HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. UP TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN  
HAVE FALLEN SINCE 3 PM. OFFICIALS ARE CLOSING ROADS NEAR CAHSIERS  
DUE TO FLOODING. OTHER FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY OCCURRING OR WILL  
BEGIN SHORTLY.  
 
* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...  
BREVARD, CULLOWHEE, ROSMAN, CASHIERS, LAKE TOXAWAY, GRAVEYARD  
FIELDS, LOOKING GLASS, B.R. PARKWAY-BLACK BALSAM TO MOUNT PISGAH,  
B.R. PARKWAY-BALSAM GAP TO BLACK BALSAM AREA AND BLACK BALSAM AREA.  
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  
 
MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS  
WATER-COVERED ROADWAYS, BRIDGES, OR LOW-LEVEL CROSSINGS. ONLY A FEW  
INCHES OF RAPIDLY FLOWING WATER CAN CARRY AWAY YOUR VEHICLE. IT IS  
NOT WORTH THE RISK. PLEASE TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.  
 
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL  
CREEKS AND STREAMS, COUNTRY ROADS, AS WELL AS FARMLAND, DRAINAGES,  
AND OTHER LOW-LYING AREAS.  
 
RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAIN INTO CREEKS AND STREAMS WILL CAUSE SUDDEN  
INCREASES IN WATER LEVELS AND FLOWS, EVEN IN AREAS WHERE RAINFALL HAS  
BEEN LIGHT OR NONEXISTENT. HIKERS, CAMPERS AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS  
OUTDOORS MUST IMMEDIATELY SEEK HIGH GROUND AND AVOID ALL STREAMS.

FLOWING OVER ROADS OR THREATENING PROPERTY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER
