...A FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 AM EDT FOR  
PORTIONS OF CHARLESTON...COLLETON...BERKELEY AND DORCHESTER  
COUNTIES...  
 
AT 108 AM EDT, WIDESPREAD FLOODING IS OCCURRING IN MANY AREAS. THE  
COMBINATION OF EXTREMELY HIGH TIDES COMBINED WITH HEAVY RAIN HAS  
RESULTED IN WIDESPREAD, DANGEROUS FLOODING IN DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON.  
MUCH OF THE CHARLESTON PENINSULA REMAINS CLOSED AND WILL REMAIN SO  
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. AREAS FROM CALHOUN STREET SOUTH TO THE BATTERY  
AS WELL AS THE HOSPITAL DISTRICT ARE SEVERELY FLOODED. TRAVEL INTO  
THE DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON AREA IS NOT ADVISED DUE TO DANGEROUS  
FLOODING CONDITIONS. OUTSIDE OF DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON, ADDITIONAL  
FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ACROSS PARTS OF COLLETON, BERKELEY AND  
DORCHESTER COUNTIES.  
 
THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON. THIS IS A  
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!  
 
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO ONE HALF INCH ARE POSSIBLE IN  
THE WARNED AREA AS ADDITIONAL WEAKENING RAINBANDS MOVE ACROSS THE  
AREA.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION. DO  
NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL UNLESS YOU ARE FLEEING AN AREA SUBJECT TO  
FLOODING OR UNDER AN EVACUATION ORDER.  
 
TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD  
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.
