DISCUSSION

WARMER TEMPERATURES AND INCREASING SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL BE FELT
ACROSS THE AREA TODAY. SKIES WILL BE MOSTLY SUNNY WITH RELATIVE
HUMIDITY BOTTOMING OUT IN THE 20S TO LOW 30S ACROSS THE REGION
DURING PEAK HEATING. THE LOWEST READINGS ARE FORECAST OVER NORTH
CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA WHERE HUMIDITY MAY FALL AS LOW AS 20 PERCENT.
SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL BE BREEZY ACROSS THE AREA TODAY AS WELL. THE
WINDS COMBINED WITH LOWERING HUMIDITY WILL BRING HIGH TO VERY HIGH
FIRE DANGER FOR MOST AREAS TODAY.

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE REGION TONIGHT, BRINGING COOLER
TEMPERATURES AND GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS FOR THURSDAY. RELATIVE
HUMIDITY IS FORECAST TO FALL TO AROUND 30 PERCENT BY THURSDAY
AFTERNOON. THIS WILL ONCE AGAIN BRING AN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER,
DESPITE THE COOLER TEMPERATURES.
