...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LATE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS  
PORTIONS OF THE VICTORIA CROSSROADS...  
 
ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR LATE THIS AFTERNOON  
ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE VICTORIA CROSSROADS. IN PARTICULAR...  
THE COUNTIES OF VICTORIA AND GOLIAD...AND THE INTERIOR PORTIONS  
OF CALHOUN AND REFUGIO COUNTIES...ARE AFFECTED.  
 
THE COMBINATION OF SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST WIND 15 TO 20 MPH WITH  
FREQUENT WIND GUSTS 20 TO 24 MPH...RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES OF 30  
TO 40 PERCENT...AND DRY FUELS...WILL RESULT IN AN ELEVATED FIRE  
DANGER CONDITION. CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE THIS EVENING AS RELATIVE  
HUMIDITY VALUES INCREASE AND WINDS DECREASE SUFFICIENT TO  
MINIMIZE THE FIRE DANGER THREAT.  
 
AFFECTED RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO EXERCISE CARE WITH RESPECT TO ALL  
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THAT COULD INADVERTENTLY CAUSE WILDFIRES.  
AVOID THE USE OF WELDING OF GRINDING EQUIPMENT NEAR GRASS AND DRY  
BRUSH. IN ADDITION...AVOID PARKING VEHICLES IN TALL...DRY GRASS  
AND WEEDS THAT COULD BE IGNITED. DO NOT TOSS CIGARETTE BUTTS ON  
THE GROUND. REPORT WILDFIRES QUICKLY TO THE NEAREST FIRE  
DEPARTMENT OR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICE.
