...THE RETURN OF ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES WILL INCREASE THE RATE
OF MOUNTAIN SNOWMELT AND COULD CAUSE FLOODING ON RIVERS AND
STREAMS LATE THIS WEEKEND AND INTO NEXT WEEK...

RECENT SNOW MELT HAS INCREASED FLOWS AND CAUSED SOME FLOODING ON RIVERS
AND CREEKS ACROSS THE EAST SLOPES OF THE CASCADES, NORTHEAST
WASHINGTON, AND THE NORTHERN PORTION OF THE IDAHO PANHANDLE.
THE RETURN OF ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES THIS WEEKEND AND INTO
NEXT WEEK WILL INCREASE THE RATE OF SNOW MELT AND PUSH MANY OF
THESE RIVERS AND CREEK UP AGAIN THROUGH THE NEXT WEEK.

THOSE RIVERS WITH ENOUGH MOUNTAIN SNOWPACK TO BE AFFECTED BY THIS
WEATHER PATTERN INCLUDE THE SIMILKAMEEN, OKANOGAN, METHOW,
STEHEKIN, ENTIAT, MOYIE, KOOTENAI, PEND OREILLE RIVERS AND THE
SMALLER CREEKS AND STREAMS THAT FEED THEM.

THERE IS SOME UNCERTAINTY ON THE AMOUNT OF RIVER RISE THIS NEXT ROUND
OF SNOWMELT WILL CAUSE IN DIFFERENT RIVER BASINS, SO THOSE THAT
COULD BE IMPACTED SHOULD MONITOR THE FORECAST CLOSELY AND CHECK
FOR FORECAST UPDATES AND FLOOD WATCHES AND WARNINGS.

MONITOR CURRENT WATER LEVELS AND RIVER FORECASTS ON THE WEB AT:
