..WINDY WEATHER EXPECTED TUESDAY

STRONG ONSHORE FLOW WILL DEVELOP TUESDAY. WEST WINDS WILL INCREASE
DURING THE DAY TUESDAY AND PEAK IN THE EARLY EVENING HOURS. WINDS
OF 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED. THE STRONGEST
WINDS WILL BE OVER THE ADMIRALTY INLET AREA INCLUDING WHIDBEY
ISLAND AND PORT TOWNSEND. WINDS WILL RISE RAPIDLY IN THE MID TO
LATE AFTERNOON THEN EASE LATER IN THE EVENING.

THESE WINDY CONDITIONS WILL ALSO SPILL INTO THE FAR SOUTHERN PART
OF THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS AND PERHAPS INTO THE WESTERNMOST PART OF
SKAGIT COUNTY. LOCATIONS NEAR THE WATER IN THE EASTERN STRAIT OF
JUAN DE FUCA WILL ALSO EXPERIENCE WINDY CONDITIONS TUESDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

THIS IS AN UNUSUALLY STRONG ONSHORE PUSH. WHILE HIGH WINDS ARE
NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME, THERE COULD STILL BE SIGNIFICANT
IMPACTS. WINDS THIS STRONG USUALLY COME FROM THE SOUTH IN THE
WINTER. A WESTERLY WIND THIS STRONG WILL LIKELY BE MORE IMPACTFUL
THAN A SOUTH WIND OF THE SAME STRENGTH. TREES ARE ALSO IN FULL
FOLIAGE WHICH COULD RESULT IN MORE IMPACTS THAN ONE WOULD SEE IN
THE WINTER WITH THESE SORTS OF WINDS.

STAY TUNED TO THE FORECAST FOR UPDATES.
