...HEAVY RAINFALL OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS HAS LED TO AN  
INCREASED THREAT OF LANDSLIDES IN WESTERN WASHINGTON...  
 
RAINFALL OF 2 TO 5 INCHES OVER MUCH OF WESTERN WASHINGTON DURING THE  
LAST FEW DAYS HAS INCREASED SOIL MOISTURE TO HIGH LEVELS, WHICH COULD  
RESULT IN ISOLATED LANDSLIDES. THIS ELEVATED THREAT WILL PERSIST  
THROUGH TODAY, THEN SLOWLY DECREASE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS.  
 
SEVERAL LANDSLIDES HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPORTED OR SUSPECTED IN THE  
LAST COUPLE DAYS, INCLUDING ONE ALONG THE BURKE-GILMAN TRAIL IN KING  
COUNTY AND ANOTHER ON THE RAILROAD TRACKS JUST SOUTH OF EVERETT.  
 
PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS SNOW ABOVE 3000 FEET ELEVATION, AND THOSE  
AREAS WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.
