ELK VALLEY  
EAST KOOTENAY  
KOOTENAY LAKE  
WEST KOOTENAY  
ARROW LAKES - SLOCAN LAKE  
BOUNDARY  
OKANAGAN.  
 
A SOUTHERLY FLOW OF MOIST SUBTROPICAL AIR COMBINED WITH AN UPPER  
LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL LIKELY PRODUCE AN OUTBREAK OF THUNDERSTORMS  
ACROSS THE ABOVE MENTIONED REGIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN BC TODAY.  
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER EASTERN WASHINGTON  
NORTHERN IDAHO AND NORTHWESTERN MONTANA THIS AFTERNOON AND THEN  
TRACK NORTHWARD INTO SOUTHEASTERN BC LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO  
THIS EVENING. SOME OF THESE STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE AND PRODUCE  
BRIEF BUT VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS, FREQUENT LIGHTNING, LARGE HAIL AND  
STRONG WIND GUSTS.  
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCHES WILL LIKELY BE ISSUED FOR PORTIONS  
OF SOUTHEASTERN BC LATER THIS MORNING AS MORE INFORMATION BECOMES  
AVAILABLE. PERSONS IN SOUTHEASTERN BC SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST  
FORECASTS FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
