FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH-CENTRAL
ARIZONA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ
232 PM MST SUN SEP 15 2019

DISCUSSION

SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE THROUGH
THIS EVENING ACROSS THE MOGOLLON RIM, INCLUDING SOUTHERN GILA
COUNTY. ABOVE NORMAL HUMIDITIES WILL CONTINUE INTO MONDAY WHICH
WILL PROVIDE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR AFTERNOON STORMS, AGAIN
ALONG THE MOGOLLON RIM AND ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN ARIZONA. THERE IS A
SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAINFALL IN THE LOWER DESERTS AS FAR WEST AS
MARICOPA COUNTY. THE STRONGEST STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
BRIEF HEAVY RAIN, STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING.
FURTHER WEST ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA, BREEZY CONDITIONS ARE
ANTICIPATED AHEAD OF A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING THROUGH THE
GREAT BASIN. A DRIER AIR MASS IS THEN EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE
DESERT SOUTHWEST TUESDAY BEHIND THIS SYSTEM.

..THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY WINDS
