FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH-CENTRAL
ARIZONA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ
220 AM MST MON OCT 25 2021

DISCUSSION

A WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION TODAY BRINGING
BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS AND A CHANCE FOR WETTING RAINS MOSTLY
OVER THE HIGH TERRAIN. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO GUST UPWARDS OF 20-30
MPH IN MANY PLACES WITH SOME PLACES ACROSS SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA
AND SOUTHWEST ARIZONA GUSTING UPWARDS OF 40 MPH. SOME AREAS ACROSS
SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA COULD SEE A FEW GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 40 MPH
WITH THE BEST CHANCE OF THIS OCCURRING REMAINING LIMITED TO
SOUTHWEST IMPERIAL COUNTY. AS A COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE
REGION LATE TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING, A FEW SHOWERS COULD
DEVELOP WHILE MOSTLY REMAINING CONFINED TO THE HIGH TERRAIN. ANY
SHOWERS THAT DO DEVELOP ARE EXPECTED TO ONLY PRODUCE LIGHT
RAINFALL AMOUNTS. MIN RH VALUES TODAY WILL BE AROUND 25-40% WHILE
OVERNIGHT MAX RHS WILL BE AROUND 60-75% FOR MOST LOCATIONS. DRIER,
COOLER CONDITIONS SET IN TUESDAY WITH MIN RHS AROUND 15-25%
(25-35% FOR SOUTHERN GILA COUNTY).

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
