FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
258 PM EDT MON MAR 18 2019

DISCUSSION

HIGH PRESSURE CURRENTLY POVIDING COOL AND DRY WEATHER
TO THE FORECAST AREA WILL BE REINFORCED THROUGH FRIDAY. BY SATURDAY
THE HIGH PRESSURE WILL BEGIN TO WEAKEN AND MOVE OFF THE COAST,
ALLOWING THE AIR MASS TO MODERATE IN TEMPERATURE WHILE REMAINING DRY.

FOG POTENTIAL FOR TONIGHT AND TUESDAY NIGHT: FOG IS NOT EXPECTED
EITHER NIGHT DUE TO THE DRY AIR MASS. DISPERSION WILL BE FAIR TONIGHT
WITH THE AREA IN BETWEEN LOW PRESSURE OFFSHORE AND HIGH PRESSURE
CENTERED WELL TO THE NORTHWEST. TUESDAY NIGHT, POOR DISPERSION IS
EXPECTED AS THE HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN.

SURFACE WINDS TUESDAY WILL BE FROM THE NORTHEAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH
THROUGH THE MORNING AND AFTERNOON, THEN DIMINISH TO LESS THAN 5 MPH
TOWARD EVENING. TRANSPORT WINDS WILL BE FROM THE NORTHEAST AT 10 TO
15 MPH FROM LATE MORNING THROUGH MID-AFTERNOON, THEN DIMINISH TO
LESS THAN 10 MPH BY EARLY EVENING.
