OCMULGEE RIVER NEAR LUMBER CITY AFFECTING MONTGOMERY...TELFAIR AND  
WHEELER COUNTIES  
 
.RECENT HEAVY RAINFALL HAS CAUSED SIGNIFICANT RUNOFF INTO STREAMS AND  
RIVERS WHICH WILL CAUSE FLOODING IN SOME AREAS.  
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  
 
ALL PERSONS WITH INTERESTS ALONG THE RIVER SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST  
FORECASTS...AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT  
LIFE AND PROPERTY.  
 
THE LATEST STAGE DATA WAS FURNISHED IN COOPERATION WITH THE UNITED

* FROM SUNDAY EVENING UNTIL LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT.  
* AT 10 AM SATURDAY THE STAGE WAS 14.4 FEET...AND  
RISING.  
* MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.  
* FLOOD STAGE IS 15.0 FEET.  
* FORECAST TO RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE BY TOMORROW EVENING AND CONTINUE  
TO RISE TO NEAR 15.4 FEET BY TUESDAY MORNING.THE RIVER WILL FALL  
BELOW FLOOD STAGE BY WEDNESDAY EVENING.  
* AT 15 FEET...FLOOD STAGE IS REACHED AND MINOR FLOODING BEGINS.  
WATER OVERFLOWS INTO THE BROAD SWAMPY FLOOD PLAIN. FARM FIELDS ON  
THE RIGHT BANK FLOOD. GENERAL AGRICULTURE AND TIMBER INTERESTS ARE  
AFFECTED BY THE FLOODING. IN ADDITION...WATER REACHES THE TOP OF  
THE BOAT RAMP NEAR THE HIGHWAY 341 BRIDGE.
