CORRECTED EXPIRATION TIME

...HEAVY RAINFALL POSSIBLE FOR THE MARIANAS OVER THE WEEKEND INTO
EARLY NEXT WEEK...

A DEVELOPING TROPICAL DISTURBANCE...TO THE SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF GUAM...
AND ITS ASSOCIATED MONSOON TROUGH WILL GRADUALLY DRIFT WEST-
NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE WEEKEND. THESE FEATURES WILL MOVE THROUGH JUST
SOUTH OF GUAM COASTAL WATERS AND WILL GENERATE SHOWERY CONDITIONS
WITH LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS BEGINNING AS EARLY AS FRIDAY EVENING...
CONTINUING INTO NEXT WEEK. CURRENT MODEL OUTPUT CONTINUES TO SHOW
RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 8 INCHES OVER THE MARIANAS BY MONDAY
EVENING...WITH SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS JUST WEST AND EAST OF
THE COASTAL WATERS AS A DEVELOPING CIRCULATION SLOWLY CURVES
NORTHWARD. IF THE CIRCULATION MAKES A SLIGHT SHIFT TO THE EAST...IT
COULD BRING RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 20 INCHES TO THE ISLANDS.

THIS DEVELOPING SITUATION WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED CLOSELY AND
FLOOD WATCHES AND ADVISORIES WILL BE ISSUED WHEN NECESSARY. HEAVY
DOWNPOURS COULD PRODUCE FLOODING IN URBAN AND LOW-LYING AREAS...AND
FLASH FLOODING OF RIVERS AND STREAMS.

NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO CLEAR LEFT OVER DEBRIS FROM TYPHOON MANGKHUT
FROM DRAINAGE AREAS AND UN-BLOCK CLOGGED STORM DRAINS IN YOUR AREA
TO MINIMIZE THE CHANCE OF FLOODING. RESIDENTS LIVING NEAR RIVERS AND
STREAMS NEED TO REVIEW PLANS FOR PROTECTING PROPERTIES.
