HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAINT LOUIS MO
722 AM CDT FRI SEP 20 2019

..HEAVY RAINFALL LIKELY SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT

A FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION SATURDAY NIGHT
THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH THIS BOUNDARY WITH HEAVY RAINFALL
POSSIBLE. TOTAL RAINFALL BY SUNDAY EVENING IS FORECAST TO BE
BETWEEN 2 TO 3 INCHES ACROSS PORTIONS OF CENTRAL/NORTHEAST
MISSOURI AS WELL AS WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
ARE POSSIBLE WHERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HIGH RAINFALL RATES CAN
CONCENTRATE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.

THE EFFECT FROM THIS RAINFALL WILL LIKELY CAUSE THE MISSOURI RIVER
TO RISE AND POSSIBLY RESULT IN NEW RIVER FLOODING ON IT BETWEEN
JEFFERSON CITY AND ST. CHARLES NEXT WEEK. ALSO, IT COULD POSSIBLY
RESULT IN NEW RIVER FLOODING ON AREA TRIBUTARIES OVER PORTIONS OF
NORTHEAST MISSOURI.

PRESENT INDICATIONS SUGGEST THAT THE HIGHEST RAINFALL RATES FOR
MOST LOCATIONS WILL OCCUR SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING
AND THIS PERIOD IS GREATEST CONCERN FOR POSSIBLE FLASH FLOODING TO
DEVELOP AS WELL.

BE SURE TO REMAIN UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST RIVER FORECASTS, AND
POSSIBLE WARNINGS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIVE ALONG A RIVER OR OTHER
FLOOD PRONE LOCATION.
