THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS EXTENDED THE  
 
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...  
SOUTH CENTRAL EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH IN SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA...  
 
* UNTIL 145 PM CST.  
 
* AT 1234 PM CST, RADAR SHOWS THUNDERSTORM INTENSITY HAS DECREASED  
ACROSS THE WARNED AREA, HOWEVER RAIN IS STILL OCCURRING. BETWEEN 5  
AND 6 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN. FLASH FLOODING OF ROADS AND  
DRAINAGES IS OCCURRING AND IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE BECAUSE WATER  
WILL BE SLOW TO DRAIN FROM THE FLOODED AREAS.  
 
HAZARD...FLASH FLOODING CAUSED BY THUNDERSTORMS.  
 
SOURCE...PUBLIC REPORTED.  
 
IMPACT...FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS, URBAN  
AREAS, HIGHWAYS, STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS  
OTHER POOR DRAINAGE AND LOW-LYING AREAS.  
 
* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING INCLUDE...  
BATON ROUGE, DENHAM SPRINGS, OAK HILLS PLACE, WESTMINSTER,  
INNISWOLD, VILLAGE ST. GEORGE, GARDERE, SHENANDOAH, MERRYDALE AND  
OLD JEFFERSON.  
 
THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING INTERSTATES...  
INTERSTATE 10 IN LOUISIANA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 155 AND 168.  
INTERSTATE 12 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 1 AND 9.  
INTERSTATE 110 IN LOUISIANA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 1 AND 5.  
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  
 
TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD  
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.
