CENTRAL LAFOURCHE AND NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON PARISHES...  
 
AT 656 PM CST, RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED  
ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR EAST NEW ORLEANS TO 6 MILES NORTH OF  
MONTEGUT. MOVEMENT WAS NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.  
 
WINDS IN EXCESS OF 30 MPH ARE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS.  
 
LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...  
NEW ORLEANS, HOUMA, AVONDALE, METAIRIE, MARRERO, EAST NEW ORLEANS,  
HARVEY, CHALMETTE, JEFFERSON, GRETNA, HARAHAN, WESTWEGO, LOCKPORT,  
MATHEWS, CHAUVIN, RIVER RIDGE, MONTEGUT, ELMWOOD, BRIDGE CITY AND  
BAYOU GAUCHE.  
 
THOSE ATTENDING THE METRO AREA PARADES ARE IN THE PATH OF THESE  
STORMS AND SHOULD PREPARE FOR THE EXPECTED WEATHER CONDITIONS.  
 
TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS, AND MAY  
CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED  
ROADWAYS.
