FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DETROIT/PONTIAC MI
353 AM EDT MON AUG 19 2019

DISCUSSION

WEAK HIGH PRESSURE WILL EXPAND ACROSS LOWER MICHIGAN
TODAY. THERE WILL BE A GRADUAL PUSH OF DRIER AIR INTO THE SAGINAW
VALLEY AND THUMB TODAY WHERE MIN RH VALUES WILL DROP BELOW 50
PERCENT. THIS DRY AIR PUSH WILL STRUGGLE TO MAKE MUCH INROADS INTO
LOCATIONS SOUTH OF METRO DETROIT AND ANN ARBOR. WEAK HIGH PRESSURE
WILL RESIDE ACROSS THE REGION INTO TUESDAY. A COLD FRONT IS THEN
FORECAST TO MOVE ACROSS THE REGION WEDNESDAY, BRINGING THE NEXT
CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. COOLER AND DRIER AIR WILL
DOMINATE THE REGION THURSDAY AND FRIDAY IN THE WAKE OF THIS FRONT.
