JANUARY 2023 WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR THE MANY DAYS OF FOG THAT  
STARTED OUT THE MONTH. OTHERWISE THE MONTH HAD NEAR NORMAL  
TEMPERATURES BUT WAS DRIER THAN NORMAL. WITH ONLY 0.11 INCHES OF  
PRECIPITATION RECORDED, IT WAS THE 14TH DRIEST JANUARY ON RECORD.  
THERE WAS ALSO VERY LITTLE SNOW, WITH ONLY 0.7 INCHES MEASURED,  
COMPARED TO THE NORMAL OF 9.3 INCHES.  
 
FOG WAS OBSERVED ON 25 DAYS OF THE MONTH WITH DENSE FOG REPORTED ON  
15 OF THOSE DAYS. EXTENSIVE HOARFROST BUILT UP ON POWERLINES ACROSS  
THE REGION AND CAUSED SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES.  
 
THE PEAK WIND FOR THE MONTH WAS 46 MPH ON THE 26TH. THERE WERE NOT  
ANY DAYS WHERE THE AVERAGE WIND WAS AT LEAST 20 MPH. THE WINDIEST  
DAY WAS THE 26TH WITH AN AVERAGE WIND OF 17.6 MPH.  
 
LOOKING AHEAD TO FEBRUARY, THE NORMAL HIGH STARTS AT 25 AND WARMS TO  
33 AT THE END OF THE MONTH. THE NORMAL LOW GOES FROM 7 TO 14 THROUGH  
THE MONTH. NORMAL PRECIPITATION IS 0.35 INCHES, WITH 6.2 INCHES OF  
SNOWFALL.
