THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH  
CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.  
   
DAY ONE
 
THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT  
 
POSSIBILITY OF MINOR FLOODING FOR THE SOUTHEASTERN COUNTIES OF  
TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWESTERN COUNTIES OF NORTH CAROLINA DUE TO  
STEADY MODERATE RAINFALL. THE EXPECTED PERIOD OF MOST INTENSE RAIN  
WILL BE OVERNIGHT AFTER SUNSET UNTIL JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT. PONDING  
OF LOW LEVEL AREAS AND RUNOFF ON PAVED SURFACES IS POSSIBLE.  
   
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
 
MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY  
 
A PROLONGED PERIOD OF RAIN AND FLOODING IS EXPECTED FROM LATE  
TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL WILL LIKELY FALL  
ACROSS THE PLATEAU, CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF EAST TENNESSEE,  
AND SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA WHERE 5 TO 8 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE.  
 
SINCE THE GROUND IS ALREADY SATURATED AND STREAMS ARE HIGH, THIS  
RAINFALL WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING. SIGNIFICANT STREAM  
FLOODING, FLOODING OF ROADWAYS, ADDITIONAL PONDING OF LOW LYING  
AREAS, BASEMENT FLOODING, AND MUD SLIDES ARE POSSIBLE. MAJOR RIVER  
FLOODING IS ALSO A CONCERN FOR MID TO LATE IN THE WEEK.  
 
THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF FLOOD WATCHES BEING ISSUED FOR AT LEAST  
SOME PARTS OF THE AREA BY MID WEEK. CONTINUE TO MONITOR FUTURE  
FORECASTS FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION.  
 
MOUNTAIN WAVE HIGH WINDS FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILLS OF  
EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA ARE POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT  
THROUGH WEDNESDAY BRINGING THE POSSIBILITY OF DOWNED TREES AND  
STRUCTURAL DAMAGE.
