THE FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA AND  
SOUTH CENTRAL VIRGINIA, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS, IN NORTH  
CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA, CASWELL AND ROCKINGHAM. IN SOUTH CENTRAL  
VIRGINIA, CHARLOTTE, HALIFAX AND PITTSYLVANIA HAS BEEN CANCELLED.  
 
THE HEAVY RAINFALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE SALLY  
HAVE MOVED EAST AND OUT OF THE FLOOD WATCH AREA. ADDITIONAL HEAVY  
RAINFALL IS NO LONGER EXPECTED FROM THIS SYSTEM AS IT CONTINUES TO  
MOVE EAST AWAY FROM THE REGION. WHILE THE FLOOD WATCH IS BEING  
CANCELLED, PLEASE NOTE THAT SEVERAL SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS ACROSS  
SOUTHSIDE VIRGINIA AND THE VIRGINIA PIEDMONT AREA REMAIN IN FLOOD AT  
THIS TIME. HOWEVER LARGE SCALE MAIN STEM RIVER FLOODING IS NOT  
OCCURRING AT THIS TIME AND IS NOT EXPECTED. A FLOOD ADVISORY WILL  
REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR FRANKLIN, HENRY, PITTSYLVANIA, CAMPBELL,  
CHARLOTTE, AND HALIFAX COUNTIES UNTIL 700 AM EDT THIS MORNING TO  
ACCOUNT FOR SEVERAL SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS THAT ARE IN FLOOD.  
RESIDENTS SHOULD REMAIN AWAY FROM THESE AREAS UNTIL WATER LEVELS  
HAVE RECEDED BELOW FLOOD LATER THIS MORNING.
