ERNESTO WILL PASS SOUTHEAST OF THE AVALON PENINSULA LATE THIS
EVENING.
1. SUMMARY OF BASIC INFORMATION AT 6:00 P.M. ADT.
LOCATION: 44.0 NORTH 56.0 WEST.
ABOUT 290 KM EAST OF SABLE ISLAND.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS: 150 KM/H.
PRESENT MOVEMENT: NORTHEAST AT 45 KM/H.
MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE: 968 MB.
2. SUMMARY OF LATEST INFORMATION.
LATEST SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATES THAT THE EYE OF HURRICANE ERNESTO
HAS BEGUN TO FILL IN, WITH SOME LIGHTNING ACTIVITY STILL BEING
OBSERVED ON THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE CORE. THE OUTER RAIN BANDS ARE
ALSO STARTING TO BECOME VISIBLE ON RADAR. AT 5:00 P.M. ADT, BUOY
44139 OBSERVED A WIND GUST TO 85 KM/H AS THE CENTRE OF ERNESTO
PASSED ABOUT 75 KM TO THE SOUTHEAST.
