A PROLONGED PERIOD OF SNOW SQUALLS PRODUCING BLIZZARD-LIKE  
CONDITIONS IS EXPECTED.  
 
TOTAL SNOWFALL: LOCALLY 10 CM OR MORE IN SNOW SQUALLS.  
 
MAXIMUM WIND GUSTS: WESTERLY 50 TO 70 KM/H.  
 
LOCATIONS: WESTERN AND SOUTHERN NEWFOUNDLAND.  
 
TIME SPAN: TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY.  
 
REMARKS: CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME FAVOURABLE FOR THE  
DEVELOPMENT OF INTENSE SNOW SQUALLS. VISIBILITY MAY BE REDUCED TO  
NEAR ZERO FOR EXTENDED PERIODS AS VERY STRONG WEST TO SOUTHWESTERLY  
WINDS ACCOMPANY THE SQUALLS.  
 
SNOW SQUALLS CAUSE WEATHER CONDITIONS TO VARY  
CONSIDERABLY(SEMICOLON) CHANGES FROM CLEAR SKIES TO HEAVY SNOW  
WITHIN JUST A FEW KILOMETRES ARE COMMON.  
 
SNOW SQUALL WATCHES ARE ISSUED WHEN CONDITIONS ARE FAVOURABLE FOR  
THE FORMATION OF BANDS OF SNOW THAT COULD PRODUCE INTENSE  
ACCUMULATING SNOW OR NEAR ZERO VISIBILITIES.
