DISCUSSION.  
 
A MAJOR ICE STORM BROUGHT SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF FREEZING RAIN TO  
CENTRAL AND EASTERN ONTARIO, PORTIONS OF THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE, AS  
WELL AS PORTIONS OF NORTHEASTERN ONTARIO FROM FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH  
SUNDAY. NUMEROUS DOWNED TREES AND POWER LINES WERE OBSERVED, AND  
OVER 400,000 HYDRO ONE CUSTOMERS WERE LEFT WITHOUT POWER. THE CITY  
OF ORILLIA, DISTRICT OF MUSKOKA, COMMUNITY OF ORO-MEDONTE, AND CITY  
OF PETERBOROUGH HAVE DECLARED STATES OF EMERGENCY.
